Cynthia Gagnon, PhD,Occupational Therapist, full-time career award researcher (Senior FRQS). She is full professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sherbrooke University, Québec Canada and scientific director of the Groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire sur les maladies neuromusculaires (GRIMN). Her work aims at improving clinical care and speed up trial readiness in the most prevalent neuromuscular diseases in Canada. Her research program include conducting natural history studies through an interdisciplinary perspective to be able to document the progression of the disease and to identify significant predictor and explanatory factors related to participation in daily activities and social roles of patients such as work and autonomous living. It includes as well developing clinical practice guidelines for the rehabilitation team for the most prevalent neuromuscular diseases in Canada. Click here to learn more about Dr. Gagnon.
Isabelle Fisette-Paulhus (M. PT, candidate master’s degree, Université de Sherbrooke) is a physical therapist in Gatineau, QC, Canada. She graduated from the McGill Physiotherapy program offered by extension at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi in 2018. She is currently doing her master’s in research at the Université de Sherbrooke. She is mostly interested in pelvic floor rehabilitation, sexuality, physical therapy, urogynecological and anorectal dysfunction in neuromuscular diseases. Her works are mostly with people with myotonic dystrophy type 1. She is supervised by two full professor, Dr. Cynthia Gagnon and Dr. Mélanie Morin.
