An Introduction to Mindfulness & Guided Meditation

Feeling stressed or just need a break? This 20 minute mindfulness session will help you take a pause, focus on your breathing and become more mindful. Livia Walsh, a nurse and licensed psychotherapist, will teach you the basics of mindfulness, including a guided mindfulness exercise that incorporates breath work, visualization and stress management techniques.

About the presenter:
Livia Walsh, RN, LMFT
Livia Walsh is a nurse and licensed psychotherapist in private practice in Encinitas, California. She developed training in the area of holistic/integrative health including mindfulness, which she has integrated in over 45 years of her professional career. She completed the MBSR training program at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and Omega Institute. Ms. Walsh also taught MBSR at the Senior Center in Encinitas and in her previous role as clinical supervisor at San Diego Hospice. She integrates mindfulness with her clients in private psychotherapy practice and teaches mindfulness-based interventions to graduate/post-graduate students and professional groups. Ms. Walsh teaches the Mindful Self Compassion program at UCSD as well as in her private practice and strongly believes in the mind-body connection and in an integrative approach to achieve and sustain optimal health and well-being.
